Mark is originally from Apeldoorn, Holland where he grew up in a house filled with blues lovers and he believes in keeping the blues alive. He began playing guitar as a small child while watching his father play. He first started playing for live audiences at the age of eight and went on to play with several Dutch groups playing a diverse range of musical styles. In 1995, Mark met international recording artist, Roy Roberts (Living Blues Producer of the Year) while he was touring in Europe. Roy was very impressed with his abilities as a guitar player and offered him a chance to play and record with him in the United States. Read more about Mark van Mourik
